My "Home"

So, I am living in shared housing (dorms) in a well-to-do residential neighborhood. My roommate-Britt- is very nice and is currently an undergrad Barnard (in NYC) student. (She's a youngun.) The rooms are pretty nice (besides the fact that they are sweltering!). Everything in the room is from Ikea, which I think is apropriate. Well, everything except for the two camping chairs they provide. (I actually went to a little cafe today, and the silverware there was from Ikea.) We share a bathroom, which isn't too bad unless you want to get in there right after someone showers. Because there is no separation from the shower to the rest of the floor, water goes everywhere, trying to find the drain across the bathroom from the shower. I put up pics of our room (excuse the mess-all our time goes to school, exploring, etc.) and the building (ugliest building on the block but it does have a grocery store at the ground floor). There is not much to do in our neighborhood, but it's pretty easy to get elseware.

PS: that 2nd pic isn't really a pic of my room-just a little joke. ha!

  1. Is that "desk" in your "home" from Ikea? It looks like one of those pick the table top and pick the legs things. Then you screw it all together?

About Me

I graduated from undergraduate architecture school in Texas (UTA) in 2004. A couple of weeks after graduating, I moved to NYC and began working. Now in 2009 after five wonderful, fulfilling, interesting years of living in one of the greatest cities in the world and debating with myself about whether or not I am ready to be a student again, I am heading back to school to get my masters in Interior Architecture (MIA, yo!) from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Before moving to Providence, RI (where RISD is located) in the fall, I will be living in Coppenhagen, Denmark for approx. seven weeks studying Scandinavian design and studio.
